Directions To Crestone

  • Directions To Crestone Colorado.

    • Located in the Sangre De Christo Mountain range In southern Colorado, Crestone is 3.5 hours south of Denver, 4 hours North of Albuquerque, and is nestled in the Middle of the San Luis Valley. Travelling to Crestone is a commitment in of itself as its far off the beaten path. The 2 closest towns/ small cities are Salida, CO, and Alamosa CO, both about an hour away from Crestone. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is just south of Crestone.

    • Best Practice is to drive to Crestone with ones own vehicle or a rental vehicle if flying into the closest airports; either Denver INTL or Colorado Springs, as its most convenient.

    • However there is an option to take a bus from Denver airport to Salida CO and then get picked up, the bus departs 1:50 pm everyday from Union Station in downtown Denver ( From airport there is a train that goes to union station every 20 min) and will arrive Salida CO at 5 15 pm. This is the ONLY time and ride per day from Union Station Denver to Salida. We can coordinate rides from here out if communicated with. Tickets and details can be found at wanderu.com . Cost is 32$

    • The ONLY bus that goes back to Denver is the same company, bus departs Salida CO, 7:45 sharp everyday ( the leave at exactly 7:45 so always show up 10-15 min early) and arrives Union Station 10:50 am, from there is a train that departs every 20 min to the airport. Cost per Bus ride is 32$ one way.

    • Again the best way to travel to Crestone by Car as is more convenient for getting around as everything is a long distance out in the mountains.
